Ontario is keeping speed limits of 110 kilometers per hour on six sections of provincial highways.

The province announced Tuesday that the boosted speed limits in some areas of the highway, which had been introduced as a pilot project in 2019, would be made permanent as of April 22. Transportation Minister Caroline Mulroney said in a statement that those sections of highways were carefully selected based on their ability to accommodate higher speeds.
